Yeah . Most of those i agree on . I think noesan and kerdiles will get time on the third or forth line . Stewart was meh last year . The broken jaw he suffered really hurt his aggressiveness when he came back . Id really like to trade up to get a forward in the top 10 draft picks but there has to be a willing trade partner . I definitely don't expect us doing much in free agency. So lets hope bargin bob comes up big in a trade . Oh . I can't beleave the sharks are down 3-1 to the penguins . This playoffs have been about depth , speed , fore check, and goaltending . Gone may be the days of big beefy teams grinding other teams aginst the boards . Oh well .

What do you suppose it would generally take to acquire the rights to Vatanen?

Rights ? Try a first round pick and good prospect . Bob murry probably wants a mixture of stuff . Especially considering we don't have a second round pick

Hey Ed! Whats the price for Andersen? Doubt ducks have any appetite to move him to a team in their division like Calgary but there aren't an excess of buyers either. What would be a reasonable ask for him?

They'd love to get a first for him. I'm not sure how feasible that is.

Nah . Our defense is young and talented . John gibson is a good young goaltender . But our fowards need a make over . And we need a new coach that that can get the most out of kesler , getzlaf , and perry . If you talked too me a month ago I'd might have agrred with you though . But I've come off the ledge .

I pretty much agree with you. Depending on the #'s, I would maybe switch Perron with McGinn. But I agree Perron may price himself out of Anaheim. The draft should be very interesting to say the least.

For the money he would pay Perron, Murray can get a younger and more consistent player.

On paper I agree, however, we've had a revolving door at top LW for years now. Nobody's stuck. When healthy, Perron demonstrated he could play along side Getz. Now, with a new coach coming in, maybe #'s 10 & 15 are paired again and we can get away with the LW revolving door. If not and we see 10 and 15 separated, Perron becomes a tough loss. We may not resign him, but I wouldn't be surprised to read we're trying (see 4th Period).

Pretty spot on - This team continues to need a scoring winger/ finisher that doesn't disappear in the postseason ... looking at you 10 - I mean not even in the JV tournament that he just played in either - IF price is right for JVR I think that has to be looked at hard -
Otherwise you have to see who is not going to be resigned elsewhere and pursue some options on that front - there are going to be quite a few quality players looking for new homes in couple of weeks - Should be enough quality for BM to find some scoring forwards with either Anderson or 45 / 4 as bait -
47 & RR def will be back both building blocks for the future no doubt about that -

Afraid that ship has sailed. I don't see it happening now. We had our chance when he was in the minors. Hope I'm wrong.

edit: also think it's Vats + to get 27

Lindholm to Winnipeg for the #2oa, Fowler is better anyway (not now, but soon). Keep Vatanen. Trade Montour, or leave him for Vegas expansion. You wont notice the absence when Larsson and Pettersson are ready and the Bieksa/Stoner contracts expire. Defense will be looking nice with Fowler, Theodore, Vatanen, Despres, Larsson, Manson and Pettersson. Goaltending is obviously set with Gibson. Try to keep Khudobin and Tokarski, but don't force it. Backups are always available. Send Andersen and the 24th pick to Carolina for #13oa and #50oa picks. Draft Keiffer Bellows in the first round. Should be enough money to address the top 6 wingers after drafting Laine and Bellows with Getzlaf, Perry and Kesler. Taylor Hall? (I wish!) Maybe bring back Kunitz.

Mostly kidding here. I'm sure you can tell which parts. But if this doesn't make you mad, it will make you feel excited.

Hey Ed,
I'd love to see Frederick Andersen and Sami Vatanen in Leaf jerseys next year! Can I ask what you seriously think it would take from the Leafs to make that happen?

Another side effect of the terrible Kesler deal. Losing guys like Anderson and Vatanen because of Ryan Keslers name value

If either Vatanen or Fowler are moved, the Sabres will be in on it. The Murrays are buds.

Personally I'd like to see Stewart and Perron come back if possible, The first line of Stewart/Getzlaf/Perron was playing really well until Stewart broke his jaw. He was a different player when he came back wearing the extra protection, but I'd like to see another year of that line together.

With all the goalies on the market, both through FA and trade options I wonder how much Freddys trade value has decreased, he's still gotta be one of the top goalies available, if not the best. With Reimer and Fleury and Bishop among others being available can't help but wonder if we're not gonna get enough in return for Freddy if he gets traded.

Hopefully we can trade Stoner or Bieksa for anything, free up that cap space, maybe trade Bieksa to detroit for the datsyuk cap hit? Just a couple of thoughts
